A Few May Antics

Lately I have been on lots of adventures...swimming in a lake with Mommy's students, eating sweet snap peas, walking down the block alone, and much more.

I realized how much fun it is to draw with chalk. Also, I walk Roxy by myself and frequently try to put her leash on while we are both inside.  Here is some funny documentation of these days in May...
This bathing suit used to be Arnica's!

I love the water!
"Look at the bird!"
"Woxy, wanna walk?"

Have chalk? Will walk!

I love my new chalk and love being mobile with it even more.  Check me out a few Sundays ago.

New Bike Helmet!

Daddy bought me a bike helmet all of my own! It is still a little big, but I like wearing it in the house (see? I was moving so it is a blurry photo) AND while in our bike trailer.

My First Social Justice March

On April 29 I went to the March Against Genocide with Mommy and some Lighthouse students.  It was so much fun because I got to be outside for hours.  Mommy said it is important to "walk the talk"--whatever that means. Here I am with Mommy's friend Sarah and with Mommy listening to a speaker from Sudan.

Cracker Face!

Earlier in May (May 13 to be exact) I learned that I can walk around with snacks in my mouth.  It's SO fun!  Mommy and Daddy don't let me do this anymore, but on this day--the first day I learned this trick--Mommy caught it on camera!

Summer on May 11: Backyard Bucket Swimming

"Gonna trust you, Mommy..."

YIPPEE!!!!
It was hot on May 11 so I went swimming.  I was tentative at first, then I decided to sit down and play in my little pool.  I also made up a game called "Eat my Three Rocks."  (See video for more info.)  I had fun in my bucket for almost an hour!

Kaya hiking at Mt. Diablo

We went on a fun little hike in the shadow of Mount Diablo.  Lots of great big oaks were hugging Pine Creek. Dad got to see some rare Mt. Diablo fairy lanterns too!

I Am Off: Part III

Yes- here is the park video. Roxy and all.

I Am Off: Part II

Check out a bit of my style...wipe-out with Roxy and all. Sorry about the 90 degree tilt in the second one. Mommy could not sort out how to rotate the clip.

Got My Walkin' Shoes and I am Off!

After a day of play, I like to snuggle in with Daddy for story time!

At the park--watching a soccer game--with Mommy!

I got a swing for my birthday and I love watching the birds and trees when I sit in it!

Yes! Swinging is F-U-N!

Proud of myself, much?

This was actually 6 weeks ago.  I learned how to play the piano with my Pop.
Since I turned one I have been more and more adventurous every day.  Sometimes I even ignore Mommy or Daddy when they tell me something! (he, he) They have been busy keeping up with me, but managed to snap a few photos and videos of our past few weeks.  (Yes- these are clearly not Daddy's photos. He will keep posting those, too).

Kaya's First Birthday!

Some belated first birthday photos. Thanks everyone for rocking out in Inverness with me!
Happy to be one!

Welcoming Spring with Steps!

After a week of practice with my Nana (I had SOOOOOOOOOOO much fun with her), I decided to walk across my bedroom alone this morning. After Mommy got Daddy, I walked across the room to him.  Next Daddy got his camera and took this video of my steps.  See how fast I walked to get my paci?

I have discovered Roxy's dishes!

Mommy let me have some fun yesterday, although she mumbled something about not passing health standards...I thought it tasted alright.  And it was F-U-N.

Yup. I am walking with my alligators.

Auntie Sandy & Uncle Marty gave me a great alligator walker for Christmas.  I not only like it, I am rocking it! Check out the no hands on MLK day.  (Just turn your head 90 degrees to watch it).

Just living life in January

I am very interested in my world these days.  Now that I can pull up on most everything--and walk with the assistance of a good chair or couch--I am taking in all in! Ask Mommy and Daddy (and Roxy) just how quickly I get around nowadays!

Avocados are yummy.

I recently discovered that I like watching live basketball.  Here I am cheering on the Lighthouse wolves with Mommy!

My car seat provided me with an hour of fun.

Yes! Got the root veggies down here!

Mommy always says I am cute in my hooded towel.  I oblige...
I love my duckie and the bathtub!

I LOVE bagels and cream cheese!

See?

Look who's patrolling the crib

We recently lowered the mattress for our little lady since she was tempting fate by leaning over the edge. Here she is calling to her kingdom - come get me out of here ... cause I'm hungry.

Happy 2012 from the Rose Bowl!

Folks, I had a totally radical time donning all sorts of red for the Rose Bowl weekend. Sadly, we didn't win in points, but as usual, Wisconsin won in spirit.

A short trip out to Joshua Tree was my first desert experience. I loved the big sandbox out there.

Christmas was super fun too! Lots of presents like new threads, a horse, a train, and even a doll that speaks Spanish - among many others. Thank you everyone!

Happy New Year everyone! Much love, Kaya
